June General Body Meeting   Date: Wednesday, June 16, 2010Time: 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Location: YWCA of St. LouisAddress: 3820 Pine Blvd.City, State Zip: St. Louis, MO 63101 Purpose for meeting change: POW is proud to host our June General Body meeting at our community partner headquarters, YWCA of St. Louis.  The June General Body meeting will provide POW members and the public with a firsthand look at the YWCA and its Transitional Housing Program.    Membership meetings are held every third Wednesday of the month from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. @ Brown Shoe located at 8300 Maryland Ave., Clayton MO 63105 To apply for membership in The Professional Organization of Women, Inc. you must:

• Submit a current resume and or a professional biography
• Complete a Membership Application. Membership applications can be obtained by contacting the Membership Committee(applying for an account online does not constitute a membership application)
• Membership Fee $75.00. $30 For Undergraduate Students *(please make check out to Professional Organization of Women, Inc or POW) and mail to: Professional Organization of Women, Inc. P.O. Box 16784 St. Louis, MO 63105-9998

 Additionally, please consider the following requirements as a part of membership in the professional organization.

• Membership is based on your anniversary date. This is the date the application packet and fee payment are received by the Membership Chair.
• Attendance at New Member Orientation is obligatory for all new members (New Member Orientation will be held once per quarter.)
• POW members must serve on at least one committee.
• All members are to attend the general body meetings and committee.
• Each member is to complete community service.
• Each member is to attend at least 1 major POW event (Women of Distinction Celebration or the Professional Forum).
